School Board Member visits REACH
On Thursday, January 26, 2023, REACH students had a special visit from Castleberry ISD school board member Linda Aguillon. To start the celebration, Ms. Aguilon shared stories of her past and explained how she made a successful life even though some doubted that she could do it. Soon after graduating high school, Ms. Aguillon went to college and became a bilingual teacher in Diamond Hill and at Castleberry Elementary. She also worked as a coordinator for bilingual education in CISD. She now travels the country to train other bilingual teachers. All of the REACH students were touched by Ms. Aguillon’s story and could relate to it in some way. REACH students prepared an appreciation present for this special board member. After she opened her gifts of a custom-made mug, t-shirt and some of her favorite snacks, everyone enjoyed visiting with Ms. Aguillon as she made a point of meeting and chatting with every student. REACH High School staff and students appreciate the support of all school board members, and were thrilled to be able to honor Ms. Aguillon.
