REACH High School Celebrates Latinas

Three students from Castleberry ISD's REACH High School have been recognized by the Fort Worth Chapter of the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas (HWNT).  Nina A., Joselyn G. and Josie S. have been accepted into HWNT's Latinas in Progress Educational Series.  These young Latinas were among the 105 Tarrant County teens selected from a pool of 170 applicants.

Latinas in Progress offers training and guidance to young Hispanic women and prepares students for the successful transition from high school to college.  Topics include: college and financial aid application process, improving writing skills, assertiveness training and civic responsibility.

Joselyn G. called the first training workshop on September 19th a wonderful experience. " I was very motivated by what the ladies said.  They inspired me in many ways and I am proud to be a part of Latinas in Progress."

Josie S. believes that Latinas in Progress will be important to her future success.  Josie looks forward to returning to share her experience with others, so that they can all benefit from her experience.

Nina A. said that she found the women of HWNT to be inspirational.  "They make me want to go out there and be proud to be a Latina. I will go to college and will then motivate other young women as the HWNT ladies did for me!"

REACH High School staff and students applaud these young Latinas as they embrace the future and their educational life after high school.
